KINE 2340: Health Psychology
This being my first Kinesiology course, I was ecstatic to begin my studies. I was hesitant at first because I was afraid it would be too much like General Psychology course and I wouldn't gain enough new information, but I was very wrong. In healthy psych we were introduced to the body systems, and the different functions of parts of the brain. We learned about various coping mechanisms dealing with injury and illness, health promoting and compromising behaviors, health services and providers, exercise plans, and we learned about various diseases. This course was very beneficial because it taught me how to deal with certain behaviors and how social factors promote and compromise them, and notice triggers for stressors and how to handle them. I learned how to create a diet log, and an exercise log as well in which I could plan future workouts and become more efficient. Towards the end of this course we learned how to manage chronic illnesses, and how to use health services and seek providers and treatments. This course translates into my Physical therapy profession due to the fact that I will be a part of someones coping process. For example a football player with a torn labrum seeks y services to rehabilitate his shoulder. From a physical standpoint I will create an exercise plan to regain range of motion, and re-build strength in that arm. From a mental standpoint my patient places a lot of trust in me to get them healthy. A lot of confidence is lost with an injury like such, and the ability to provide care and create a comfortable and positive setting is vital. Patients respond to their social support, and if I am a partner along the way they will be more resilient.

KINE 2310: Foundations of Kinesiology
Foundations of Kinesiology was a great and broad introductory course that allowed me to view the broad world of kinesiology. During this class I enjoyed learning about the history of kinesiology and how the field has grown over the years. I learned about the various goals and philosophies behind kinesiology, and was able to create my own list of goals as well as my own philosophy to use going forward in my studies. Of the various fields, my most enjyable moments were when we learned about coaching, exercise, sports psychology, and various rehab techniques found in sport and exercise. They translated best to what I hope to be doing in the future with my kinesiology degree. An understanding of exercise, rehab, and psychology of athletes and possibly patients allows one to be very successful in the field of kinesiology and physical therapy.

BIOL 2404: Anatomy and Physiology 1
Anatomy and Physiology has been both the most interesting and toughest course required in the Kinesiology degree I have taken to date. It truly highlighted how vast and completely amazing the human body really is. Beginning with mitosis, the division of cells, this class and lab presented an unreal amount of information but still brought out an eagerness and excitement to learn more everyday. With a foundation begining in lecture of the different systems in the body, the class dove deeper into how the various systems worked. From sodium/potassium pumps, to how various vitamins and pH levels effect the body and homeostasis within it A&P 1 proved its self to be the most interesting class to me by far. In my experience, lab was far more enjoyable than lecture. I prefer to be hands on and being able to do dissections, view muscles and cells in miroscopes, and study the bones was amazing. It was challenging, but a great experience because it was proviing me with knowledge about bones and muscles that were key to success in PT.

KINE 2336: Strategies and Principles of Coaching
Being an athlete my entire life, I had always wondered why coaches acted the way they did, had a certain philiosphies, taught how they taught. Principles of coaching helped me to understand various facets of coaching that I had not understood before, I dont plan to work as a coach, but this class definitely equipped me with thw skills to be a future little league coach for my future kids. Priniples of coaching taught me how to be a smart coach, starting with creating with creating a philosophy and helping me to understand that if you want someone to believe you, and work hard for you, you must live your philosophy and embody your words. This class truly taught me how to be a leader and a teacher as well, not just a coach. A big portion of this class was learning to understand differences, working with people of different ages, cultures, backgrounds, genders, and situations to achieve a common goal which was success in their sport. This idea can be applied any field, degree of workforce through hard work, understanding, transparency, and communication.

KINE 2202: Creating a Wellness Lifestyle
Creating a wellness lifestyle is a very broad kinesiology course that I believe covers just about every facet and does so with the emphasis on the improvement of the quality of ones life. Physical fitness was a major topic, we learned about the heart and arteries and how LDL and HDL effect ones health. Physical fitness extended into lessons of strength, endurance, body compoition, and then how often and hard people at various age groups should actullay work to maintain health. In addition to exercise and physical fitness we learned about injury prevention, and various ways to get treated if an injury has occured. Topics such as diet and nutrition were covered heavily due to many of Americas problems arise due to obesity and poor eating habits. We were schooled on proper nutritional habits and proper exercise to promote a comfortable life. Towards the end of the semester stress management, and topics such as drug awareness were taught to express the dangers of stress and various stret drugs and alcohol on the body.

KINE 2234: Test and Measurement
Test and Measurement was more math based than I had anticipated as we did very much evaluating whether it was of graphs or human activity. Much of the evaluation was of topics such as force, strength, speed, and other measurable attributes of that nature. We learned how to use various tools frequently used in the kinesiology world such as the skin fold caliper. We used the skin fold caliper to measure body compositon, which proved its self to be much more tedious than I had thought. Analyzing graphs, various curves, and different tests was fairly difficuly. We learned what different cureves meant, and how distribution worked within them. Creating tests was also covered, we learned about the strengths and weaknesses of variou tests and how to administer them.

Their mission statements as well as their publications were very helpful. To close the semester we learned about various workplaces for kinesiology and health professionals, their strenghts, weaknesses, pros, and cons. This class truly helped me to understand the oportunities out in the world, applications for my hard work, and ways to socialize with other professionals in my field.
